Liverpool crushed its German rival Leipzig 5-0 in the friendly match that brought them together on the sidelines of preparations for the new season 2022-2023.
Mohamed Salah participated in the basic form of the Reds, for the first time in the preparatory period.
Liverpool played two friendlies before facing Leipzig, where they lost to Manchester United 4-0, and beat Crystal Palace 2-0.
Salah participated as a substitute in both matches and scored his first goal against Crystal Palace.
This match, which Salah started, also opened the scoring, with a goal in the eighth minute after a decisive pass from Roberto Firmino.
And in the 33rd minute, Andre Silva came in place of Alexander Sorloth in the ranks of Leipzig, and the first half ended with Liverpool leading 1-0.
And between the two halves, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp made 4 substitutions, with Darwin Nunez, Costas Tsimikas, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip replacing Roberto Firmino, Andrew Robertson, and Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate.
Nunez did not delay, as he benefited from a penalty kick obtained by Luis Diaz, to score his first goal, and Liverpool’s second goal in the match in the 48th minute.
And quickly Nunez picked up Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pass to score his second goal, and the third for the Reds in the 51st minute.
In the 60th minute, Leipzig made 5 substitutions, with Emil Forsberg, Hugo Novoa Ramos, Amado Haidara, Konrad Laimer and Xavier Schlager replacing Christopher Nkunku, Benjamin Henrix, Kevin Campbell, Dani Olmo and Dominic Suboslay.
On the Liverpool side, Klopp made 7 substitutions with the arrival of Stefan Paisetic, Harvey Davis, Joe Gomez, Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones, James Milner and Harv Elliott, instead of Louis Diaz, Adrian, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.
In the 69th minute, Nunez completed the hat-trick, scoring the fourth goal for Liverpool, then scored the fifth for his team to come out with a “super hat-trick” after Fabio Carvalho’s pass in the 90th minute.
