Two dead and five injured in Los Angeles shooting

Paramedics transported 7 people to area hospitals, while two of them, a man and a woman, died of their injuries

The Los Angeles Fire Department said that two people were killed and five others were shot in Los Angeles, early Monday after a shooting broke out at an unofficial auto show in the town of San Pedro.

Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said paramedics had taken seven people to area hospitals, and that two of them, a man and a woman, had died of their injuries.

Humphrey said the shooting victims, 4 men and 3 women, ranged in age from 23 to 54, but he could not provide any information about the cause of the confrontation.

Humphrey said the auto show was an informal gathering rather than a formal event. As part of Southern California’s auto culture, classic car owners and others often gather in public to show off their driving ways.
